Anemia an = -emia = without, not blood Disorder characterized by negative (without) red blood cell levels

Leukemia leuk = -emia = white blood Cancer characterized by an increase of abnormal white blood cell

Septicemia sept = ic = -emia = infection pertaining to blood Blood poisoning or a systemic disease caused by the spread of microorganisms in the blood

Ischemia isch = -emia = to hold back blood Temporary deficiency in blood supply due to either the narrowing or blockage of a blood vessel
