Although most girls think that it is very rude, shallow and even libidinous to do that.  Immature Sammy kind of looks down on female.  Common It’s common among boys to do so. Characteristics of Qunnie  Open Wering bathsuit to shop in a grocery store  Queen Speaking like a gueen and acting like a leader. “Her voice kind of starved me, the way voices do when you see people first, coming out so flat and dumb yet kind of tony, too”

Major Characters(3)  Lengle  The boss of the A&P store

Characteristics of Lengle  Conservative Lengel represents old points of view.  Considerate When Sammy told him that he quit, he tried to persuade him not to quit. But, I think he is upright. He wanted to keep A&P from being “polluted”. I think he is a considerate man.

Minor Characters(1)  Stokesie  The clerk working with Sammy in A&P  Twenty-two, married, and has two babies.

Characteristics of Stokesie  More ambitious than Sammy ” He thinks he's going to be manager some sunny day, maybe in 1990 when it's called the Great Alexandrov and Petrooshki Tea Company or something.”

Minor Characters(2)  Plaid  Big Tall Goony Goony  Qunnie’s two partners

Charcsteristics of Two Partners-Plaid &Big Tall  The nickname Sammy gives to them  Qunnie’s friends.

Supporting Sentnces  Plaid- A plump, pretty girl with a good tan and a sweet broad soft-looking can who catches Sammy’s eye first.  Big Tall- You know, the king of girl other girls think is very”striking” and “attractive” but never quit makes it.
