Presentation transcript:

 You always need to have the latest anti- virus software so that you can prevent picking up unwanted virus’.  To prevent receiving junk mail, being locked out of your system you need to make sure you understand what you are clicking on and if you have a firewall or anti-virus software this will help to prevent virus’.

 To protect all of your work and your data, you must back up your work.  There are many ways to back up your work, for example: USB sticks, floppy disks, external hard drives.  If you have lots of work that is important and has had a lot of time and information put in to it, and you don’t back them up, if you lose them you will have to start again.

 If you don’t have the latest firewall or anti-virus software, and you get a virus then you are very likely to lose either work you have saved, or things like passwords, credit card details and so on.  Most anti-virus software's are free for example AVG, spybot search and destroy and Microsoft security.

 To make sure that you don’t get a virus make sure you know what websites you are clicking on, and don’t click save or run programmes if you don’t know what they are.  If you have certain anti-virus software's they will not let you enter infected websites and/or will prevent pop ups that can cause virus’.

 To use IT more safely to your advantage. If you don’t have any anti-virus software don’t go on to websites until you do otherwise you computer can get hacked and put on the server with millions of others.  Never leave your computer unattended while logged on, always lock it or log off.

 If you don’t back up and you either accidently delete it or you get hacked you will not be able to get it back, so you will have to start again but you may not have the time to start again.  So always back up your files, and if possible back up on more that one system because you may lose, delete, or get your USB stolen.

 Our information needs to be secure because, if we get a virus and the virus deletes our comics then we will have to re-write them. We are constantly selling comics so if one of them gets erased, we cant sell it so we lose sales, customers get frustrated and won’t want to buy from us again, and this can all be prevented by anti-virus softwares.
