Presentation transcript:

 Dates: March 24 th -April 05 th 2014

 Before registration, full tuition should be paid  If you applied for Late tuition payment, you should fully cover your tuition according to the schedule. NO FURTHER DEFERRAL IS AVALIABLE.  Otherwise students will not have access to their on line study cards

 Before registration, please check if you do not have any books to be returned to the library

 Each of you should have a checklist that was distributed by your department at the beginning of this academic year.  Before each registration follow your checklist independently and come up with questions to your adviser.

 30 credits hours of Sport  6 audit credits –it is not required, but possible to audit the classes in addition to required 30 credits of semester load

 You have a chance to audit the classes. If you select a course and see available audit seats, it means you may audit the current class. If you can’t register for audit it means this course is not available for audit.

 Every student should check a prerequisite for each class.  Prerequisites are classes you need to take before you can move on to another class. Often it is a move to more advanced class. For example, you cannot take FYS 216, if you have not taken FYS 116.  The other example: psychology 101 needs to be taken before psychology 250.

 Please remember, if you took psychology 101 and failed it, it means you did not pass the prerequisite requirement and you cannot take more advance course like psychology 250.

 The other detail about prerequisite: For example, if you are taking PSY 101 right now, in spring During registration period you already signed up for PSY 250. In summer you find out you fail the PSY 101. Make sure to do changes in your schedule during add/drop period. In other words, you have to drop PSY 250, since you did not pass PSY 101.

 The course Concepts of Modern Sciences is 6cr.  If you have not taken anything from Natural Sciences (Ecology, Geography, History and philosophy of Science) you can take Modern Sciences course and cover 3 credits of electives. Example: ecology (3cr.) + elective (3cr.)= 6cretids total. Or Modern sciences (6cr.) = 6cr. total.

 Student who fail FYS part I (Receives ‘F’ grade), should take it for fall 2014.In spring 2015 you further sign up for FYS II.  If you fail FYS II, please remember to retake the class in spring It is not offered in fall 2014.

 Students will have two opportunities of taking state exam in History of Kyrgyzstan: 1. at the end of fall semester of sophomore year 2. at the end of spring semester of sophomore year

 As a part of General Education Requirement you should earn 8 credits of Russian language + 8 credits of Kyrgyz language.  If a student graduated a Russian-language high school, she/he should take Kyrgyz language + Humanities taught in Russian.  If a student graduated a Kyrgyz-language high school, she/he should take Russian language + Humanities taught in Kyrgyz.

Russian language high school:Kyrgyz language high school: 6 cr. Kyrgyz language course6 cr. Russian language course ++ 2 cr. Kyrgyz language course2 cr. Russian language course ++ 6 cr. Humanities taught in Russian6 cr. Humanities taught in Kyrgyz ++ 2 cr. Humanities taught in Russian2 cr. Humanities taught in Kyrgyz = 16 credits total

 Summer school 2014 will be available containing : 2 credits Russian Language 2 credits Kyrgyz Language 6 credits Humanities taught in Russian 6 credits Humanities taught in Kyrgyz FREE OF CHARGE  We highly encourage you to take summer school in order not to spend your elective credits in Fall semester

 No French (part I), German (part I) or Spanish (part I) in fall Please plan taking these languages in spring  If you already took part I of these languages, in fall 2014 intermediate and advanced levels will be offered.

 Arabic (part I)and Chinese (Part I) will be offered in fall In spring 2015 student continues taking part II of the selected language  Japanese and Korean will be offered in fall The same scenario applies for these two languages. In spring 2016 student continues taking part II of the selected language 

 If you are planning to take one of the above languages, you have to learn the selected language two semesters. (Read carefully the message from the president on February 26, 2014)  The main idea: it is not academically useful to take only one semester of any languages. Students will not receive a credit for taking only one semester.

 Admits 2013 are expected to fulfill sport class requirement. This means student has to take sport class four semesters within eight semesters of undergraduate study. There is zero credit load for sport class.

 Students, who do any sport activities outside the university, must provide the Registrar Office room 101 with the certificate and the load will be counted toward your degree.  Students, who have health issues and are not allowed to do sports, must provide the Registrar Office room 101 with a medical certificate. Deadline will be announced

 At your sophomore year, you will have a list of sport choices. It will not be limited to yoga/chess

 Individual courses are offered for additional fee  Musical individual courses - 2 cr.  2 cr. load musical class fee will be announced  1cr. load for other individual classes, the fee will be announced. Examples of individual music classes:  Komuz  Guitar  Singing  Piano

 August 25 -September 05, 2014  Students will get their study cards back during add/drop period even if they do not need to do any changes.  If students make any changes in their schedules, it means you need to go through two steps again: send study card to advisor, get advisor’s approval and then finally send it to Registrar’s office.  If you do not do any changes, please leave it and do not touch it. Registrar’s office gets your study cards back.

 Please remember that you have to check your transcript before add/drop and if you fail of any of classes, make sure the failed class is not a prerequisite for class you have signed up. If it is so, you do changes during add/drop period.

 The deadline for “W” grade is 20 th of March. Reasons for taking “W”:  Your GPA is in Serious Danger (high risk to get an “F”)  You’re Just Plain Overwhelmed Read extended explanation about this grade on the Webpage of the Registrar’s Office.  If you really need to receive this grade print the special form in advance, since you will have to receive professor’s signature.  The link for the form:

Course evaluation will be open on April 06- May 02, 2014  It is available online  Encourage to actively participate  Access to evaluation report will be provided to students who have completed evaluation for all registered classes

Resources:  WARC  Psychological counseling  Academic Advising

 Please update your contact information in your on line profile

1. Students should regularly check their AUCA s to avoid missing important information: deadlines, changes, updated policies and other important announcements.

 Updated academic polices and regulation can be found on line, at Registrar’s web page: 
