Duties of The President  Are essentially the same as when George Washington was President, yet they have expanded greatly  For example the President is Commander in Chief: For Washington that meant calling up 15,000 Volunteers to put down a Whiskey Rebellion  And Today?

Duties Continued  The President with the approval of the Senate, also appoints:  Heads of Departments  Federal Court Judges  He or She also makes treaties with other countries  Most important job: To make sure that the laws of our country are faithfully executed.

Presidential Salary  Today it is 400,000 dollars and an 100,000 nontaxable travel allowance per year  Other Benefits: Air Force One, Free Medical, Dental, and health care while in office.  They live in the White House which:
