Blackboard Collaborate  Collaborate got a fresh coat of paint too. Must now install a ONE TIME LAUNCHER  Now, automatically in every course, there are three buttons in the Blackboard panel.  The first two buttons are available rooms for the course.  The third button allows the instructor to create additional meeting rooms. 8

Test Options  Instructor must select rules to set the release of test results and feedback.  If you want students to see feedback, you now have to select the "when", "what" and "types of feedback" you want available to them. 1. After submission - merely show score. 2. After end date, the system will now be set up for students to view all answers and feedback. 9

New for Students- Viewing Test Results and Feedback  Students must now click the number under “Calculated Grade”  (it is a hyperlink to their test results page). If the feedback options are chosen, students DO NOT click OK to view results.  Click the score under Calculated Grade to view test results. Anonymous & Delegated Grading  Current “Hide User Names” to enable anonymous grading  Student’s name is replaced by a unique identifier  The Reconcile Grades page allows an instructor to review provisional grades, feedback, and make a determination regarding the final grade. 16

Significant Figures in Calculated Formula Test Questions  The correct answer to be calculated using the defined formula and variables, and the student’s response validated to award credit, has been improved to include calculation to significant figures.  In addition, we have improved our existing support for scientific/exponential notation.  The Test Canvas and the Item Analysis report have also been updated to include Significant Figures information. 18

Changes to the My Grades Page – For Students 23

Single Course User Participation Report  This report provides data necessary to substantiate a student’s academic contribution within a single course.  first name  last name  user ID, student batch ID  system availability setting  course ID, course batch ID  submission time/date stamp  and count of submissions for attemptable item types within a course,  including: assignments, tests, discussion board posts, blogs, and journals.  The report data may then be downloaded and used by the institution to meet Federal Financial Aid reporting requirements. 24

Portfolio  Tool for assessing student learning  Creating a Portfolio -user clicks the Create Portfolio button in the My Portfolios sub-section.  The first time that a user is presented with the new Portfolio authoring canvas the system will present her with the option to view a brief guided tour.  The guided tour walks the user through the new authoring interface at a high level to orient the user to the new tools.  Personal Artifacts & Assignment Artifacts  Assigned Portfolios. This new feature allows the instructor to require a Portfolio as the submission in response to an Assignment in a Course. 26
