Description Kingdom-Animalia Phylum- Chordata Class-Mammalia Order- Artiodactyla Family-Giraffidae Genus-G. Camelopardalis Colors and markings can vary from tan, brown, and black. Heigth of the giraffe is about feet tall Length is about 5 feet across A male weighs about 2,000lbs. And females about 1,800 pounds. Shape is a round body, long legs, and a long neck. They live about years

Habitat Giraffes range form Chad in Central America to South America and pockets of Africa Giraffes like savannas, grasslands, Sub-tropical or tropical grasslands, or open woodlands south of the Sahara Desert

Diet Giraffes are herbivores, they do not eat meat They like especially eating trees, one tree they like the Acacia trees they also eat grass and tree fruit.

Social behavior Their behavior towards humans are very friendly Unless the giraffe thinks that you are trying to threaten it and It will start running away The giraffe can make all sorts of sounds including a moo, hiss, roar, and whistle. Their social status is not an issue they are not endangered

Family Life Gestation period-about months The number of offspring is usually 1 but on rare occasions the female giraffe will have a pair of twins There is no certain time of year they are born so all year round The female giraffe will take care of its offspring until about 3 or 4 months

Other/fun facts The average length of the giraffes tongue is about 27 inches The giraffe can run up to 34.7 miles per hour. They barely ever lay down because when a giraffe is laying down it takes a while to get back up and when a predator is coming full speed the giraffe wont get up in time and ….bye giraffe.
