2 Classification  Kingdom: animalia  Phylum: chordata  Class: mammalia  Order: carnivora  Family: uridae  Genus: Ailuropodo  Species: Melandeuca

3 What does a Panda look like?  The length of a panda is 5 to 6 feet.  Height is 2 to 3 feet on all feet for male. The female is a half a foot shorter.  Weight of a pandas is 175 to 250 pounds for male. For Females it is 150 to 225 pounds  Has black legs, eyes, nose, and the rest of the body is white.  The overall look is medium sized rounded bear.

4 Habitat  The pandas are found in the Yangtze Basin, central China, provinces of Sichuan, Shaani, and protected areas.  The area is mountainous (which is a High attitude) with dense bamboo forests.

5 Diet  Bamboo.  It eats up to 20 to 40 pounds of Bamboo.

6 Family life  A panda has 1 to 2 babies at a time.  The gestation time is 100 to 150 days.  It breeds from March to May.  The Mother takes care of the children.  Female does not know they are pregnant.  Shelter is a overhang on a cliff or in a zoo.  For the young pandas in captivity they get a birthday cake.

7 Social behavior  The pandas are kind of solitary.  They show aggression by lowering their head and starring their at the prey.  Their temperament is meek.  They communicate with scents, tree scratches, and calls.

8 Present Status  There are 1500 pandas on earth and 1000 of live in the wild.  Pandas are endanger.  People love to see them but they like to be in the wild.

9 Supper Awesome Fun Facts  Pandas teeth are 7 time larger then ours.  Pandas can only go 5-6 hours without food.  Pandas mom is 900 time bigger than the baby at birth.  They sit or lie down when they eat.
