Why use PPD Programs? 1)To promote Membership Describe a benefit of NYSW, Inc. for all age groups (youth, young women, experienced women) for all interests (student, military, veteran, working, volunteer) Something for everyone Offers participation, mentoring and monetary award

PRESS RELEASE For Immediate Release Insert date For more information, please contact: insert name, phone, NY State Women, Inc. insert local chapter name introduces mentoring programs New York State Women, Inc. insert Local Chapter name is seeking participants for the organization’s mentoring programs - New Careerist, Career Recognition and Political Development. The New Careerist Program is open to participants between the ages of 21 and 32 with a minimum of one year and a maximum of three years of full time experience. The Career Recognition Program mentors those who have recently changed careers or had an exceptional achievement during the previous three years. The Political Development Program mentors those interesting in the legislative process. Program is open to non-members but membership is required to complete the program and compete at the New York State Women, Inc. Annual June Conference. Awards at the state-wide competition are first place $500, $300 for second place and $200 to the third place winner. New York State Women, Inc. (formerly BPW) was founded in 1919 to support and advocate for working women. New York State Women, Inc. insert Local Chapter name is one of 40 local chapters throughout New York State. The organization supports women looking to advance their careers and provides educational programs at the state and local level to foster personal and professional growth. How? Our New Careerist program mentors those aged 21 to 31; Career Recognition Program supports those with an exceptional achievement and the Political Development Program guides those wanting to advocate for a special issue.

What are the Programs? Career Recognition Program Member by State Conference No age restrictions Who tells us of a Personal achievement: – A change in career, or – An exceptional career achievement during the last 3 years, or – An exceptional achievement as volunteer during the last 3 years

What are the Programs? New Careerist Program Member by State Conference Between ages Who tells us of a Professional achievement during a minimum of 1 year and a maximum of 3 year’s work experience

What are the Programs? Political Development Program Member by State Conference No age restrictions Who tells us of a Political/Advocacy achievement by contacting a legislator who opposes the issue Write a letter & visit their office to convince them to reconsider

Athena Society Reach out to Military Women – What can we do to help them? e.g., food drives, personal contact with their families, recordable books for military children, frequent flyer miles – donate to “Hero Miles’ – Honor a Military Woman this November Athena Membership Award Sponsor a Woman in the Armed Forces or a Veteran to a one-year membership Details on entry form
