Responsibility- Following the gym procedures; - Enter class and sit in assigned seat, immediately -NO Horseplay or boisterous behavior will be tolerated -No food, drinks or gum allowed -Dress in assigned section in the locker room -LOCKS ARE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST – We are not responsible for lost or stolen items- no cell phones allowed. -4 minutes to dress -Return to assigned seat -Prepare for exercises -Follow all school rules, gym rules and directions -Be respectful to teachers and fellow classmates -Special needs in writing or medical doctor’s note -Dress back out in assigned area, wait for teacher dismissal Written Assessment and Fitness Test: In class and out of class assignments will occur throughout the year with specified Physical Education & Health lessons. All paperwork sent home to be signed; class letters and assignments will be returned for a grade. Physical Fitness testing will occur. Fitness events will be scored for a grade.(Special Note: Progress Reports can be returned signed for extra credit. Receiving the Progress Report back signed is and EXCELLENT source of communication.) Daily Deductions- -Wrong color shorts = -1 -Failing to participate -Wrong color shirt = -1 in daily activity = -3 Improper gym clothes = -1-Improper shoes = -3 -Borrowing shirt or shorts = -2-Failing to participate -Failing to follow gym procedures = -2 and borrowing -Failing to do warm-up exercises = -2 uniform = -5 (Must do all of the exercises) Dressing Out/Uniform- Gray t-shirt, Navy Blue Shorts and Gym Shoes. If student chooses to wear a uniform from home—NO DENIM OR SOFFE. SOCKS AND NON-MARKING SOLE GYM SHOES WITH CLOSED BACKS AND TOES ARE REQUIRED! Students that do not bring a uniform will be issued a gold short and white shirt school uniform to wear. Participation- Actively engaged in the warm-up and activity for the day. Students are expected to participate to the best of their ability, be active and open to new experiences. Attitude and effort are key elements to success regardless of ability.
