Keep the gym and locker room clean, use equipment only as intended *Students may earn or lose a maximum of 5 points each day*

8 Tardy Policy *Be in assigned squad in the gym when the bell rings *Six minutes allotted for dressing out and reporting to your assigned location in the gym

9 Dressing Out Policy *Blue Valley Physical Education t-shirt or OMS spirit wear (with student name written on the front) *Blue Valley Physical Education shorts or school appropriate athletic shorts *Athletic shoes and socks

10 Not Dressing Out Policy *Required to actively participate during class and will receive up to 2 daily points *2 more points can be obtained by completing the OMS Daily Make-Up Point Sheet located on SchoolCenter So…Please don’t forget your clothes!!

11 Excused Absences *Required to make up written tests and fitness assessments *Required to make up daily activity points by completing the OMS Daily Point Make-Up Sheet located on our SchoolCenter pages within 2 weeks of returning to class. If the make-up sheet is not completed until after 2 weeks, the student may only earn up to an 80%. *Allowed 2 activity days per semester without having to complete a make-up sheet *Applies to excused absences cleared by the front office and doctor’s notes

12 OMS Physical Education Daily Point Make-Up Sheet In physical education class, we require that you make up any absences. On days that you are absent from P.E, you need to perform one of the following: 1. At least 20 minutes of continuous physical activity in the “target heart rate zone.” 2. At least 30 minutes of continuous physical activity in the “moderate zone.” The activity must be completed outside of regular school hours for each day missed. Print off, complete, and return to your teacher within 2 weeks of being absent in class to receive full participation credit. You may receive up to 80% credit for make-up sheets turned in past the 2- week time allowance. 13 NON-PARTICIPATION *Written doctor’s notes are required for students who cannot participate due to an injury for more than 2 class periods. A parent’s note can be used for injuries lasting 2 class periods or less. *Doctor’s/Parent’s notes should contain specific limitations if the student is able to participate using only certain areas of the body to exercise. *If a student is still able to participate according to their type of injury, they will still receive their daily activity points and will not have to complete the make-up sheet. *All physician’s notes may be delivered to school or faxed to our school nurse, Mrs. Bowersox, at (913) 681-4502.

14 Classroom Injuries Any injury that occurs during the PE class time must be reported to a teacher.

15 Classroom Rules Classroom Expectations - No jewelry, gum, candy food or beverages allowed in gym - Remain in the locker room until the bell rings and teacher dismisses the class - Inhalers should be used as prescribed - Cell phones and cameras are NOT permitted in the locker room at any time *3 P’s Student Responsibility Plan (School-Wide Oops! Cards) Prepared Productive Polite *Parents may be contacted and automatic detentions/office referrals may be issued any time at teacher’s discretion.
