Today’s Agenda Begin Italian Webquest- on webpage. Work in groups of up to 4 people! Each person is to complete 4 pages for the assignment

Your family has decided to take a trip to Italy. It's the first time you have been there and you are excited. This is your one chance to absorb as much of Italy and what it has to offer in just one week. The problem is that each one of you has different interests and likes so you must make an itinerary that fits all of your interests and needs. Once you are in Italy you have to visit all of these fun and exciting places and bring back information and pictures for a scrapbook. You want to have a great trip and bring back plenty of memories!

Task Your task as a "family" is to search the net for places in Italy that fit your interests, "visit" these places, gather information, and take "photos" of the places you visit. When you get back "home" you will put all of the information and "photos" into a scrapbook so you can have a place for all of your family's memories of your trip to Italy.

Process You will need to choose a "family" of four people- un papà, una madre, una sorella e un fratello. Decide on a last name for your "family". Pick which role you want to play. Each member has different interests and wants to "participate" in different Italian or Carnevale activities. Let me introduce you to your family:

Madre’ Mom loves to know the history of everything and anything... she even goes so far as bringing her digital recorder while on vacation so she won't forget a thing! Mom loves tradition, art, food and the stories behind everything. She would also love to go to an authentic bistro in Murano or Burano, one of the many islands of Venezia.

Papa’ Dad is an architect, so he loves old architecture and how things are made-- whether someone is talking about buildings and transportation. Dad will want to find out about the architecture of monuments in Venice and the means of transportation available in Venezia.

Sorella Sister wants to be in the Carnevale spirit! She always has the hippest clothing and is definitely a Fashion Queen. She has learned so much about Carnevale that now she wants to get herself a costume and become a part of this amazing experience! She'll want to know where the Parties will be held. She also loves to wear masks and dress up!

Fratello He just wants to have fun! He's athletic and loves games, so he'll want to find out where the fun sporting events are on this trip...(and there are plenty, believe me!). Look for the Calendar of Events and any sporting events available.

After you've decided on a role, you need to start your voyage. Each person should "visit" at least 4 places that fit your interests. Each slide should have a picture and description of the picture. The picture must be relevant to the information on the slide. Once you have gathered all of the information and "returned" home to the United States, you will need to make a scrapbook of all of your "memories". THE SCRAPBOOK will be created using POWERPOINT. EACH PERSON in your group WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR 4 PAGES OF THE FAMILY SCRAPBOOK. Use the pictures you took and write 2-3 sentences IN ENGLISH about each location from the information you gathered. You may divide the scrapbook up by place or any other way you want to do it. For example, you could divide it by main attractions and have all of the places you visited within that week all together or divide it up into pages per day.
