Normally Open, abbreviated ‘NO’ is the type of lock that prevents current flow during the power failure, which keeps the doors closed and locked. It is also known as FAIL SECURE. The locks will remain locked during the power failure and cannot be unlocked. NO type locks are recommended for storage areas or other places where you want to keep safe during the power failure. It is not recommended for emergency doors and other doors that people use for entry and exit since it stops all the incoming and outgoing through the entrance. NO type locks guarantee high security level but it decreases the safety level of the users. The use of NO type locks must comply with the local fire regulations. Normally Close, abbreviated ‘NC’ is the type of lock that allows current flow during the power failure, which keeps the doors open and unlocked. It is also known as FAIL SAFE. The locks will unlock during the power failure and it disables any security features. NC type locks are recommended for main gates, office doors, and other doors that are used as emergency door in case of power failure. EM locks are designed to be used in doors that can be opened and closed in one direction. EM locks are compatible with any of IDTECK’s access controllers. Electro Magnetic locks require power in order to operate and provide security. Back-up battery can be added the system and used in the event of a power failure. EB locks are designed to be used in doors that can be opened and closed in all direction, in 180 degrees motion. EB locks are compatible with any of IDTECK’s access controllers. EB locks are available in both fail safe and fail secure modes. Electric Dead Bolt locks require power in order to operate and provide security.
