International MMO Licence Update Andrew Hughes

NLA current licence options for intl MMOS NLA offers lots of options to MMOs eClips International – 15 clients Database service Online user licence 25 titles only High per copy fee MMO collects revenue UK licences – 20 + clients eClips - high price, low per copy fee, high end user minimum fee and licence Scanning – high price low per copy fee, high end user minimum fee and licence Paper copying – high minimum Web database licence – different end user licence, lower fees Confused yet? 2

New IMMO agreement simplifies structure Single, simpler MMO licence Allows paper, web, scanned content, and eClips delivery to clients Allows full UK content coverage Simplifies administration Some volume limits apply Pricing simplified No change in per copy prices No increase in minimum fees for MMOs (still e125pm) New minimum covers print, web and paper copying – so will reduce costs for many MMOs Single end user licence covers all uses Digital users sign one online agreement (as before) No minimum fees for clients No end user agreement for paper copies PDLN compatible End user licence model may be used by other PDLN members Reporting uses proposed standard PDLN format 3

Volume limits apply MMO can receive an unlimited amount of eClips International content and up to 100 hardcopy, 100 digital and/or 100 web articles from an appropriately licensed MMO, per month. MMO can supply client organisations with an unlimited amount of eClips International content and up 100 clients with a total (all clients) of up to 500 hardcopy, digital and/or web articles, per month. Most MMOs use minimal volumes of UK material Significantly less than UK MMOs MMOs with higher volume requirements covered by existing UK offerings Content Definitions eClips Intl – the top 25 NLA UK titles Digital – all licensed UK print titles, delivered digitally by an NLA licensed MMO Web offline – all licensed UK web titles, delivered digitally be an NLA licensed MMO Web link – all licensed UK web titles 4
