Searching SOLO: OLIS & Other Collections

What can I search for? / What should I put in the box? Titles (of books, journals, publications…). Note search for journal titles NOT article titles Authors Subject keywords What can I search for?

Simple search by title / author To search for a specific title enter the most significant words from the title / author. SOLO will find items including all the words you have entered

To find out where the book is or to order/reserve it click For more info click on the title More information & “getting” the book

SFX: to check for online version (for journals) Libraries which hold the item To request a copy from the stacks Getting it!

University card barcode number Stack requests If you don’t know your password ask at your library

Narrowing down… If you’re looking for a common title narrow down your search using the drop down boxes Limit your search to books, journals, audio-visual… Only return items which include the exact phrase you entered. Only look for words in the title, author, subject etc Limit to a particular library or to online only

Connecting to online resources To connect to full text

Connecting to online resources Date coverage for Chadwyck Most journals are available from more than one database or supplier.
