Wendy Wigley NHS Next Stage Review (Darzi 2008) Provide more integrated services for patients, by piloting new integrated care organisations, bringing together health and social care professionals from a range of organisations – community partnerships. (page 7)

Wendy Wigley Better at Home Campaign – RCN & WellChild Recognition that many children and young people remain in hospital when their ongoing long-term and often complex health care and general well-being might be better and more cost-effectively managed from home. Timely, high quality and effective care to be delivered in the home where possible. Packages of care which co-ordinate health, social care and education in a way that meets the individual and ongoing needs of the children and their families Greater financial investment in childrens nurses to work specifically with this group of vulnerable children and bridge the gap between hospital and community services

Wendy Wigley Practice Based Commissioning: budget guidance for 2009/10 (DH 2009) 4 -What PCTs need to do…4.6 – Enabling training and continuing professional development: Continued investment in training, pre-registration clinical education and placements is essential to support staff in providing quality services and enabling them to transform their individual practice (page 23)
