Weather Forecasts

Temperature Temperature – how hot or how cold the air is Instrument: Thermometer Units: degrees C or degrees F

Humidity Humidity – the amount of water vapor in the air Instrument: Hygrometer Units: 0 – 100% (percentage of the maximum water the air can hold)

Wind Direction Wind Direction – the compass direction from which the wind is coming from Instrument: Wind Vane Units: Compass direction (N, SW, ESE, etc.)

Wind Speed Wind Speed – how fast the air is moving past a measuring point Instrument: Anemometer Units: mph, meters per second, etc.

Air Pressure Air Pressure – the force of the air pushing in all directions Instrument: Barometer Units: millibars

Visibility Visibility – the distance one can see through the air Instrument: Eyesight Units: miles
