South Cambridgeshire District Council History Proposed new town of Northstowe, promoted by Gallagher Estates and the new Homes and Communities Agency The development is to be an “exemplar” in sustainability and has been labelled a “proto- type Eco-Town”

South Cambridgeshire District Council Total development area: 432 hectares, divided into: 189 hectares for residential development (population of 24,000, accommodated within 9,500 new homes) 14 hectares of employment floorspace 23 hectares for town and local centres 22 hectares for schools (6 primary and 1 secondary) The remainder of the land will primarily be open space with proposed sports grounds and play areas.
