SYMPTOMS IF ACTIVATED cough (chronic and sometimes blood-tinged) weight loss (where the name consumption came from) Pain in the chest Whole body: chills, fatigue, fever, loss of appetite, malaise, night sweats, or sweating Also common: loss of muscle, phlegm, shortness of breath, swollen lymph nodes, or unintentional weight loss
