Introduction Project Websites Workshop Niclas Forsling, Christopher Parker, Kirsti Mijnhijmer 22 April 2009, Copenhagen

Welcome  And thank you for coming

Background  Assessment of first Progress Reports and performance in general  Conclusion: project websites do not communicate project outcomes well enough: products/services. Websites focus too much on activities and cooperation networks  Symptomatic for misunderstandings about expectations to projects  The NPP depends on you to demonstrate products/services

What can you expect from us?  Explanation of theNPP expectations for project websites and project responsibilities  Explanation of the importance of a solid communications strategy  Practical tips for web design  Opportunity for questions and open discussion  NOT: step-by-step course about web design

Workshop Setup  Presentations:  NPP expectations Part 1: project role, importance communication strategy at the centre, a business perspective  NPP expectations Part 2: target audiences, other expectations  Practical tips for user friendly web design: planning a website, writing for the web, Web 2.0  Wrap up: action planning, final questions  After each presentation time for in-depth discussions and questions

What do we expect from you?  This workshop depends on your input and participation!  We want to create an informal environment that allows for open discussions: mutual respect  Proactive approach: you are professional project managers

Discussion Points  How should the programme better communicate that we are looking for projects to produce products/services?  What additional tools are needed from the programme to enhance product/service development?  How could we better jointly promote products/services under development?  How could we cooperate in branding the NPP area and its development?

Agreement ...
