1. Treasure Hunt Date and time: 22 September 2012, 12: :00 Number of participants: 30 Place of a civic action: A public park in the neighborhood of Top van Noord. This park was used during the Neighbours’ Day and many people were gathered together to celebrate this day , Dublin 3

The Treasure Hunt: brief summary "The Treasure Hunt” is an action to motivate people to use and care of the park in their neighbourhood. The park is literally a treasure in a district or neighbourhood, a place where you can relax and enjoy the tranquillity. A good park can only flourish through the joint care of the users, the local residents. The goal of the action is to encourage people to make greater use of the park, to keep it clean and consider it as their own 'treasure' , Dublin 4

Treasure Hunt: methods , Dublin 5 The Invisible theatre was selected as a method because the prepared scene was addressing an issue of shared importance and concern for a local community and was played out in a public place.

The most successful area of the execution of the civic action was the fun part of searching the treasure! It was a challenge to make the map not too easy and yet not too difficult , Dublin 8

Treasure Hunt: feedback from the audience’s point of view The aspects which attracted the participants in the civic action were the exciting part of searching for a treasure. The best aspects of the civic action were that the children had to work together. The impact of the civic action is the awareness of the children to care about their park , Dublin 9

2. A look at the past Date and time: 22 September 2012, 12: :00 Number of participants: 20 Place of a civic action: The Rotterdamse Andreaskerk. This church is near the park that was used during the Neighbours’ Day and many people were gathered together to celebrate this day , Dublin 11

A look at the past: brief summary "A look at the past" is a civic action that focuses on the rediscovery of the monuments around us. Without people realizing it, they live often near a monument. In many cases, people have never seen the inside of the monument. This while such buildings can tell a lot about the area and its development. The purpose of 'A look at the past " is to give people a way to emphasize the historical heritage in their neighbourhood and raise their interests , Dublin 12

A look at the past: methods , Dublin 13 The Invisible theatre was selected as a method because the prepared scene was addressing an issue of shared importance and concern for a local community and was played out in a public place.

A look at the past: evidence , Dublin 15

A look at the past: feedback from the participants’ point of view The objectives of the civic action were not quite achieved. There were not many people who walked near the church. The most successful area of performing of the civic action was the making of a nice postcard that we could give to people and talk to them. It was difficult to find people who were passing by the church. So that’s why we approached people who were in the park at the Neighbours’ Day , Dublin 16

A look at the past: feedback from the audience’s point of view The aspects attracted to participate in the civic action was the fact that the church was open during the Neighbours’ Day. The best aspects of the civic action were that the people got a nice postcard with information about the church. There were some aspects of the civic action that could be improved, for example attract more people. The impact of the civic action is the awareness of the people for the monument , Dublin 17

A look at the past: reflections on the feedback This civic action was less successful, because it attracted less participants. But on the other hand people who were provided information on the monument/church were happy to learn new things about their neighborhood , Dublin 18

3. The Christmas Wishes tree Date and time: 12 December 2012, 16: :00 Number of participants: 30 Place of a civic action: Top van Noord, Rotterdam, this place was chosen because the action is to activate the inhabitants of this district , Dublin 19

The Christmas Wishes tree: brief summary The idea is to decorate a Christmas tree with wishing cards made by the inhabitants of the North district of Rotterdam. This way the inhabitants will be able to express their ideas how to make the neighbourhood a better place to live and will be activated to take part in the life of the community. People will be motivated to participate in an artistic social action in order to increase their civic responsibility , Dublin 20

The Christmas Wishes tree: evidence , Dublin 21

The Christmas Wishes tree: evidence , Dublin 22

The Christmas Wishes tree: feedback from the participants’ point of view The objectives of the civic action were achieved. There were a lot of people who wrote down their wish and hanged it in the tree. The most successful area of the execution of the civic action was the contact we made with the neighbors who came to hang their wish in the tree. The biggest problem was the cold!! Brrrrr… , Dublin 23

The Christmas Wishes tree: feedback from the audience’s point of view The aspects attracted to participate in the civic action was the big Christmas tree and the hot chocolate milk! The best aspects of the civic action were that the people got a nice postcard to write their wish on and hang it in the tree and talk to the other neighbors.
