7 MEMBERSHIP & MARKETING SEMINAR| 7 Who can we invite?  Members and partners and their family  Community partners  Corporate and business sponsors  Local council  Politicians  News media  Prominent citizen as a key speaker  Who else?

8 MEMBERSHIP & MARKETING SEMINAR| 8 Start planning now... Get an extraordinary committee together... They should know your club’s story and be inspiring. There’s plenty to do before February 23rd Supply media releases to:  Local and major newspapers  TV and radio stations  Web – relevant websites you can promote to (including your Club’s web site of course!)  Supply photos and a great story  Invite media to pre-event promo or the event itself Shout it out; more voices = great volume!  Inform everyone in your club and encourage them to tell others about your message.

Request and attract partners and sponsorship – raise awareness  Direct approaches to business for sponsorship  Proposals for sponsorship Plan events in the community  Get involved in community events  Talk about what you plan to do – involve business groups, schools etc

10 MEMBERSHIP & MARKETING SEMINAR| 10 Start planning now... Run membership information nights  Once a month invite a community partner to come and tell potential members what your club has done for them Prepare for the day  Have marketing / membership material developed

11 MEMBERSHIP & MARKETING SEMINAR| 11 Your club’s success cycle... More Members More Capacity To Achieve More Partner Support More High- Impact Projects More Attractive Clubs

12 MEMBERSHIP & MARKETING SEMINAR| 12 Start planning now...  Put a fabulous group together to run the event!  Give yourselves a budget.  Remember: if it’s important, you need to measure it.  Tell everyone that you’re doing something special for February 23 rd – now!  Issue a save the date card.  Drip feed the enthusiasm regularly, particularly before and after Christmas.  Think of this as your special birthday celebration. Let everyone know you’re going to be having the best party and it’s not to be missed.
