Different Robots  There are many different robots  Some robots are in the real world  Some robots are only in movies

Work Robots  Many robots build things like cars  Some work with very hot or cold metal

Service Robots  Service robots will do things for us  Some can do lots of things, like bring us stuff, or even talk to us

Service Robots  Some robots can work in hospitals  They are so good, they can work on people  This robot can open you up, and see what you had for lunch!

Service Robots  Some robots can clean for us  This robot can vacuum the floor  The ‘ Roomba ’

Military Robots  Lots of robots are used by the army  This robot can look for bombs, and safely explode them

Cyborgs  Cyborgs are movie robots  They are part human, part robot  They are in lots of book and movies

Movie Robots  There are lots of movies about robots  Lets look at some movie robots

The Terminator  The Terminator is a bad robot  It is a cyborg – part human, part robot  These movies have Arnold Schwarzenegger

Star Wars – R2D2  The Star Wars movies have lots of robots  These robots are called ‘ droids, ’ short for Androids  R2D2 is in these movies

Star Wars – C3PO  Another robot from Star Wars is called C3PO  He is very slow, and always scared  C3PO can talk in 6,000,000 languages!

Robocop  Robocop is also a Cyborg  He was a police officer, got shot many times, and had to become part robot  Now the bad guys are scared of him

Transformers  Transformers was a comic book, then a cartoon, and now a movie  They can change from cars into robots  This is Optimus Prime

Transformers  Some Transformers are good and help people  Others are bad, and want to hurt people  They are more than meets the eye

Arms  Robots have all kinds of arms

Legs  Robots have lots of different legs

Heads  Robots have lots of different heads

Let’s Make a Robot!  Let ’ s make a robot to draw on the board  Each row can have one person come up and make a robot  Use arms, legs, body, head, and anything else you want

Conversation  If you could be a robot, what would you do?  What would you look like?  Where would you go?  Would you be a good robot, or a bad robot?
