Mrs. Anthony’s class

Class Rules Come to class ready to learn and prepared to work. Raise hand to get permission to speak. Raise hand to get permission to leave seat. Do not interfere with others learning Respect yourself and others as well as the property of others.

Behavior Monitoring Our classroom will use a combination of the clip chart as well as Class Dojo to monitor behavior. The clip chart is located in the classroom. Each student has a clothespin or clip with his or her name on it. Everyone will start on green at the beginning of each day. Clips can be moved up and down, or off the chart throughout the day based on behavior. Class Dojo is a positive online tool that easily encourages students to do the right thing. Students can see and hear when points are given as well as taken away.

Behavior Monitoring The Class dojo and the clip chart will be a great tool that allows students to be rewarded for positive behavior, while discouraging negative behavior. With class dojo, the teacher can send parents class photos, announcements, and show you how students are behaving in class.

Behavioral Consequences. Green is where we begin our day and we are prepared to learn. You may either move up or down. Orange is the teacher's choice. This means the teacher decides what the consequence will be.  1) behavior Form filled out  2) seat changed, recess taken, station/center time taken, extra work assigned Clip Off means that you had an extraordinary day!!! Clip off means that your clip has jumped off the charts onto your teacher. Your teacher will wear your clip ALL day to show others that you had a spectacular day!!! Red means that you refused to follow the class social contract.  1) phone call home, buddy teacher  2) lunch detention or after school detention  3) classes closed, referral to office

Goals. Teacher’s Goals—To ensure the success of all students; Students will show academic growth in Reading and Math; to teach all subjects to mastery of 85% and above; create a positive rapport with students and my parents.

Homework Policy. Students will be given homework every day including on the weekend. Some of the homework may come in a packet. Incomplete or missing homework will affect students’ grades. Homework turned in on time and daily will improve students’ grades. Also, students who turn in homework daily and on time will win tickets to get a prize from the treasure box.

Curriculum. ELA ---Journeys book that include reading, grammar, spelling, and writing with Social Studies and Science Integration Math---Envisions math book with reading, social studies, and science integration Curriculum is based on Common Core State Standards Social Studies--

Grading Policy. Grades will be based on the following weighted scale. Overall breakdown : Class work - 35% Homework - 15% Participation- 5% Quizzes (including check-ups)- 25% Assessments(including tests and projects) - 45% EXTRA CREDIT - Extra credit will not be offered to improve a students grade as this leads to grade inflation. Extra Work could be given to those who ask for it, but it will not be counted toward their grade. Late Work - Late work is accepted with a 10% deduction each day that it is late from the overall score.
