THE HISTORY OF RADNOR LAKE The Louisville and Nashville Railroad Company impounded Radnor Lake in In 1923 the Tennessee Ornithological Society proposed that the area become a sanctuary for wild life. In 1962 the area was preserved as a park. In 1973 Radnor Lake was purchased by the Tennessee Department of Conservation.
