2 Florida Keys Water Watch Program Goals
A: AWARENESS – Importance of water quality D: DATA – Collect baseline water quality data A: ADOPT – BMPs to prevent NPS pollution P: PARTNERSHIPS – Citizens & agencies T: TOOLS & TRAINING – To sample local waterways & encourage stewardship To reiterate importance of building partnerships the P. LIONFISH lionfish, lionfish. Hope to add a biological component as the program develops, year one focused on chemical monitoring. All of this modeled on AAS, >20 years, volunteers have reported invasive species, wildlife poaching, and illegal discharge – grease down storm drain

I was the AAW at UGA MAREX. Great opportunity for building partnerships, in Georgia very successful in working with these organizations. 4H on Tybee Island has taught 1000’s of kids how to conduct. We have funding for 30 sites; Islamorada Youth Council, Sigsbee Charter School, shipwreck the Vandenberg, Stock Island Marina, Sugarloaf Shores, Tavernier Ocean Charter School, Marathon High School, ellen, martha? Villages of Islamorada. 5th grade to adult, individuals and groups. Targeting homeowners associations that are having Monroe County sponsored canal restoration demonstration to monitor water quality before and after

Value to citizien science, this graphic shows how volunteer data used in US. Watch programs so that we can spread the program throughout the state, Lisa has BB WW Table 1.
