3. Purpose  To develop and implement practical, experiential, environmental education and research curriculum to address local ecosystems.

4. Goal  The primary goal of this project is to train students and teachers in methods of ecosystem monitoring and restoration.

5. Process  Student’s will analyze water quality over time using lab and CBL equipment  Possible variables are: coliform bacteria dissolved oxygen nitrates phosphates salinity pH Temperature

6. Computational Model  Students will then analyze and develop mathematical models from the collected data to determine trends or disturbances.  Possible Modeling Tools: –Excel –Stella graphical model

7. Assessment  rubrics  data analysis  presentation and discussion of project  laboratory skill based  assessments laboratory/report portfolios  written assessments of key concepts
