How to make a portrait template By Carlin Bright ACT-IED-8. Students will demonstrate use of proper line types a) Demonstrate the ability to perform a drawing set up, e.g., sheet size, border, and title block

Get out your drafting pencils, architect scale, a triangle, and drafting board or T-square Tape your paper on two corners to your desk. MAKE SURE WHEN YOU TAPE IT THAT IT IS LINED UP HORIZONTAL TO YOUR T-SQUARE OR PARALLEL BAR

Drawing Title DR BY: Your Name ScaleDateCHK: DR NO #

Create construction lines ¼” away from the edge of your paper on all 4 sides Construction lines are 0.3 mm graphite, and very light

Create construction lines ¼” away from the edge of your paper on all 4 sides 1) Use your architect scale to make marks ¼” for all distances

Create construction lines ¼” away from the edge of your paper on all 4 sides 2) Use your t-square or parallel bar and triangles to make vertical and horizontal construction lines. 0.3 mm graphite, VERY LIGHT

Create edges of your template Use 0.7mm graphite to create a rectangle over the construction lines. Erase the extra lines in the corners

Create your title block Make a mark 3/8” above bottom border 3/8”

Create your title block Use your parallel bar or t-square to complete the line

Create your title block Make another 3/8” mark above the first 3/8”

Create your title block Use your parallel bar or t-square to complete the line

Create your title block Make marks at the following distances along the horizontal 2”

Create your title block Use your triangle, with your t-square or parallel bar, to complete the lines

Create your title block Everything BLACK goes on your drawing. Everything RED you fill in with the correct data for your drawing before you turn it in Drawing Title DR BY: Your Name ScaleDateCHK: DR NO #
