Four Types of Sentences Declarative Interrogative Imperative Exclamatory

A declarative sentence tells something. It ends in a period Example: The temperature is warm

Interrogative Interrogative sentences ask something. It ends in a question mark Example: Is it warm?

Imperative An imperative sentence gives an order or makes a request. This type of sentence ends in a period Example: Please find out how warm it is. Find out how warm it is.

Exclamatory An exclamatory sentence shows strong feeling This type of sentence ends with an exclamation mark. Example: It is Hot!

Examples What a beautiful day it is! Set the table. Will you set the table? The Jacket was a birthday present.
