1 There are four different kind of sentences. Do you know them all? By the end of this presentation, you will. I bet you just can’t wait!

2 You are in 3 rd grade. A declarative sentence is a telling sentence. It just gives you information. It ends with a period.

3 Who is the best 3 rd grade teacher? An interrogative sentence is asking a question. It is when you want to know something. It ends with a question mark.

4 Please keep your classroom clean. An imperative sentence gives a command. It is when you want someone to do something. It usually ends with a period.

5 I’m so happy that you are in my class! An exclamatory sentence is filled with emotion. It is when you are excited (mad, sad, glad...) It ends with an exclamation point.
