Siennica Commune

About Siennica Commune is situated to the east of Mazovia Province, in Mińsk district. It covers h ectare, and it’s population reaches 7 thousand people. The Commune is known for it’s beautiful landscapes and nature. Southeast and southwest part include areas favorable to recreation development.

Świder – the biggest river The river flows through postglacial areas with moraine hills often covered with forests, what creates unusual landscapes

The Piaseczna river, the Świder’s tributary, flows through Dzielnik, Drożdżówka, Kulki and Ptaki – it creates plenty of meanders.

Big bodies of water around Nowodwór, Lasomin and Siennica - Stara Wieś district (covers 68,5 ha) are very attractive for local inhabitants and guests. Uneven areas, many forests and bodies of water create a specific microclimate. Inconsiderable environmental pollution, low level of chemical farming or industry, and quite small distance to Warsaw, makes this area good for developing recreation field.

The biggest concentration of private recreation places are Borówek and Drożdżówka. Toutists are interested in agritourism farms, among others, in Ptaki, Wólka Dłużewska, Starogród, Dzielnik, Julianów and Zglechów.

The true treasures of the Commune are church and postreformation monastery with it’s surrounding. It was built according to Antonio Solari plans in the years 1749 – 1760, and founded by Mazovia Governor Kazimierz Rudziński and his wife Antonina from the Nowosielscy. Till 1864 the buildings were occupied by Order of Reformats. Next, the buildings were assigned to teachers training college.

In the Ptaki Village, there is a water mill entered in a register of historical monuments

One of the most beautiful school building in region built in the years Located on a hill - the teachers training college.

Complex of schools under the name of establishers H. i K. Gnoińs cy has been working till now. It educates children and young people at a level of secondary and upper- secondary school. The youth can attend technical college and high school

The youth can be educated, among others, in following subjects: - environmental protection, - instalations and systems of renoval energy resources - tourism.

The Siennica Museum At the school there is the Siennica Museum which is very unique, and where you can find the richest collection in Mazovia. It’s about local history, traditions of education, local culture and struggle for independence. Also, you can find there a library section which includes old textbooks and diaries of former teachers, students and people connected to the local education.

ECONOMY

Due to natural value and favourable circumsances for eco-farming, the Commune provides raw materials for food industry, meat companies and diaries

Education, culture and health

Within the Commune there are 3 nursery schools, 6 primary schools, 2 secondary schools and 1 high school. The Gnoińscy school in Siennica The Sienkiewicz primary school in Siennica Public primary school in Żaków

In the centre of Siennica there is a public health care establishment, a public library (branche are also in Grzebowilk)

Sport A sports and leisure complex is located within the Sienkiewicz primary school in Siennica. There is a sports hall built in 2004 and stadium which includes football field, exercise field, basketball and volleyball field, tennis court, racing track and track to do the long jump.

Communal infrastructure Water network is built in every town and village (water is being supplied from two points - Siennica i Nowy Zglechów) In Siennica there is a sewerage system. At the moment the sewage treatment plant is being modernized what is going to enable more users to connect.

The Commune has it’s own waste dump place

Thanks to European Union founds the Commune is able to develope and renovate it’s structure. A huge part of road network was recently renovated. Next roads and sidewalks modernizations are being planned

In 2011 reconstruction of province’s road number 802, leading through Siennica was finished.

During this time in the centre of Siennica the Jan Paweł II park was also renovated

This year in Grzebowilk there were prepared two reservoirs. Next year in Dąbrowa a recreation ground is going to be built

In November 2012 at Siennic a school a complex of playgrounds, built within the „Orlik” programme, was handed over to community.
