A Traffic Accident

The clouds were black and heavy with rain. John was at the bus stop, waiting for the bus.

When it started to rain, many people ran for cover.

Suddenly, a schoolboy ran across the road.

S-C-R-E-E-C-H ! ! ! The driver of a blue van tried to stop, but he was driving too fast. He could not stop in time and hit the boy.

The boy was badly hurt. He could not move at all. His schoolbag and books were all over the road.

When the policeman came, the driver told him what happened. An ambulance took the injured boy to the hospital.

John was unhappy. He thought about the unlucky boy all day.

There are many road accidents in Hong Kong. Some drivers drive too fast and pedestrians are careless. People should be more careful. Then, Hong Kong will be safer.
