Apple/Mac through the Ages

Designed and hand-built by apple co-founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, the Apple I was Apple's first product. Apple I went on sale in July 1976 at the particularly unsettling price of $ Only 200 units were produced. Unlike many other computers of the day, the Apple I came as a fully assembled circuit board containing around 30 chips Apple I

1977 Apple II 1977 Apple II The Apple II was one of the first successful personal computers ever made.

1984 The Apple Macintosh The first ever Apple Macintosh went on sale on January 24, It was the first successful home computer to feature both a mouse-based and keyboard input system. It came with two applications -- Macwrite and Macpaint.

1987 Macintosh II The Macintosh II, one of the first expandable Macintosh models (it could be upgraded with more memory to make it faster).

1995 Apple Macintosh The launch of this Apple Mac couldn't have come at a worse time for Apple – it faced stiff competition from Microsoft with the release of Windows 95 and advanced Operating System.

1998 iMac And then there was light...the 1998 the first of the series iMac was a turning point in design; gone were the blank, beige desktop computers of old to be replaced by these translucent, Bondi blue- colored, plastic-cased machines that married form with function.

1999 IBook The iBook launched a year later took many of its design cues from the iMac. The cute, clamshell design and compact size made this model popular.

2002 iMac Apple was on a roll. The all-in-one iMac of 2002 was jaw-dropping in its looks, and worked with a cutting edge Operating System that was easy to use.

Macbook Air Apple continued to refine and perfect its product. While most people and businesses still use a PC, Apple made a change in the personal computer market. Apple found a new audience, young people who like music and who want to do more with computers than enter data and write papers.

igeneration The iPad, a platform for audio-visual media including books, periodicals, movies, music, games, and web content. Other igeneration items include iPhone and the iPod Touch.

ENAIC (Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer) to Blackberry In the last forty years computers have evolved faster than any other technology. They went from taking up entire rooms the size of our school library to mini handheld personal digital assistants (PDA’s). As far as personal computing is concerned laptops currently outsell desktop computers, and they are getting smaller and lighter everyday. The super-thin Macbook Air is a portable machine that is light. powerful and easy to carry. The iPad and other tablet computing devices can handle basic computing, including , social networking, Web surfing, online banking, instant messaging and multimedia.
