Proposal and Scope  Transfer California State University Northridge credential students’ records from hardcopies electronic media  Minimize paper usage and costs, modernize processes and centralize student information  Provide a server that can be network to the desktop computers  The server would require hosting a database

Scope Continued ……. Student calls office Retrieve record from file cabinet Is student on File? yes Provide student Information or update record Enroll student via Pen and Paper Create file for student and file Periodically, perform file maintenance and archiving Secure file cabinets and verify security upon leaving every night

Goals  Save the department money without sacrificing reliability and effectiveness  Trained employees in the use of the software and the database for proficiency  Convert all hard copy files to electronic media for quicker access and improved security
