 WHAT INFLUENCES WHETHER WE TAKE PART IN PHYSICAL ACTIVITY? P21  There are many factors that have an affect whether we take part in physical activity or not.  HOW DO THE FOLLOWING INFLUENCE WHETHER OR NOT WE PARTICIPATE IN PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:

SPEND A LITTLE TIME ON:  PEOPLE (FAMILY, PEERS )  ROLE MODELS (THESE ARE PEOPLE WHOSE ACTIONS ARE EMULATED BY OTHERS)  IMAGE (ACTIVITIES REQUIRE THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT)  MEDIA COVERAGE (MEDIA COVERAGE INCREASES THE POPULARITY OF SOME SPORTS)  CULTURAL FACTORS ( DISABILITIES, AGE, GENDER, RACE )  RESOURCES ( AVAILABILITY, LOCATION, ACCESS, TIME AND COST)  HEALTH AND WELL BEING ( ILLNESS AND HEALTH PROBLEMS LIMITS PARTICIPATION)  SOCIO ECONOMIC ( COST, STATUS INCLUDES A PERSON’S CURRENT POSITION IN SOCIETY)

TASK……  THERE ARE VARIOUS INITIATIVES TO KEEP PEOPLE INVOLVED IN SPORT, WHAT ARE THEY?  RESEARCH EACH AND BE PREPARED TO STAND UP AND TALK ABOUT ANY ONE!

SUMMARY:  2 HOURS OF HIGH QUALITY PE IN SCHOOLS  PESSCL – PE SCHOOL SPORT AND CLUB LINKS – SPORT ENGLAND AND YOUTH SPORT TRUST – THEY PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES TO GET INVOLVED IN SPORT. THIS PROGRAMME AIMS TO STRENGTHEN LINKS BETWEEN SCHOOLS AND LOCAL SPORTS CLUBS.  SPORT ENGLAND – COMMITTED TO CREATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE TO START, STAY AND SUCCEED IN SPORT.  THE YOUTH SPORT TRUST TOP LINK – 14 TO 16 AGE GROUP TO ORGANISE AND MANAGE SPORT ACTIVITIES – LEADERSHIP.  ACTIVE KIDS PROGRAMME – VOUCHERS FROM SUPER MARKETS TO HELP BUY EQUIPMENT AND THEREFORE ENCOURAGE PARTICIPATION.
