RIDDOR Harry and Amy

What does it stand for? Reporting injuries, diseases, and dangerous occurrences regulations. (1995)

What does this regulation require? RIDDOR requires all the employees and employers to report all work related accidents. This includes: Diseases Injuries Dangerous incidents

Why should you abide by the regulation? It is a legal requirement It enables the enforcing bodies to identify all the risks in the workplace and to investigate all the serious accidents. The enforcing bodies can advise how to prevent injuries in the future.

Who do the regulations affect? If you are an employer, self employed or in control of a work premises, then you will be obliged to follow this regulation.

What incidents need to be reported? Deaths Major injuries Diseases Dangerous occurrences Accidents resulting in over 3 days off work

How can it be reported? By telephone ( ) By internet (this is done by completing the relevant form on the RIDDOR website – By post (Incident Contact Centre, Caerphilly Business Park, Caerphilly, CF83 3GG)
