Project rationale Produce 10 case studies of innovative and effective e- learning practice across sectors (HE, FE, ACL, Sixth Form) Perform a developmental role through close collaboration with e-learning models desk study –Comment on and validate instruments/templates –Four formative case studies based on previous experience/existing data (one for each sector) –Application of instruments to six further case studies (via site visits)

Timescale and deliverables Timescale (2004): –May – June (phase 1, instrument validation & four formative case studies) –July – October (phase 2, six more case studies through site visits) Key deliverables: –Formative/interim report by end of June feedback/validation of desk study templates Four formative case studies –Ten case study reports & final report –Dissemination at practitioner-researcher events
