Desert Biome Research By Justin Myers

Name of Biome Geography & Climate Location: North & and outside if the U.S Description: hot & Dry days and cold nights Precipitation: 3 to 5 inches per year Temp Range: Fahrenheit Climate: Hot and Dry

Desert Biodiversity Plant species: creosote bush, sagebrush, ocotillo, and cacti Animal species: snakes, insects, lizards, skinks, geckos, gazelles, dikdiks, kangaroo, rat, and kit fox 15 different kinds of plants and animals.

Adaptations Needed for Survival Plant : Their good at storing and finding water. Some plants have seeds that can stay dormant in the sand for a long time until there is enough rain for them to grow Animal: Some mice build their home out of fallen cactus spines to protect themselves from predators

Name of Biome Interactions of Biotic and Abiotic Biotic: Snakes eat mice. Cactus stores water. Abiotic: There is not any grass because there is little rain.

What is Biodiversity? It is big variety of plants and animals of a ecosystem.

How does biodiversity contribute to the sustainability of an ecosystem? Use the handout given in class to answer the above question Its contributes for food, materials, and medicines
