Armenia FLEG Impact and results on the ground

FLEG is a joint effort

Armenia FLEG program To sustain the achievements of the past years with regards to advanced legislation and policy documents, as well as build on the momentum established by the Government and donor funded projects, in order to strengthen the forest governance Building public awareness and support for forest law enforcement and governance Helping shape and advance institutional reforms Promoting private sector inclusion in FLEG processes

Public awareness has been improved  Comprehensive communications strategy  Knowledge-attitude-practices  Media trainings  Journalist awards  Public service announcements  Website for Hayantar

Forest management plans will be “de-classified”

Stronger support for institutional reforms  Reforms are back on the agenda of the Government  FLEG is the main driver of the reforms  NGOs and civil society are better integrated in the reform process

Stakeholders are more engaged

Understanding of the private sector is improving  Private sector database  Pilot projects  Business plans

Next steps FLEG program has created a great momentum, and we should keep building on this momentum Support should be continued to sustain the reforms ENA FLEG process should be sustained
