What is Enrichment and AP? Advanced Placement – AP Central - Everything a Parent Wanted to Know Dual Credit/Articulated Classes – A class taken at MHS. The student signs up, pays tuition with a university, and can earn college credits. Retro Credits - After taking a placement class, student can be given retro credits. Usually it requires student to pass a course with a B or above.

Conferencing Model 9 th Grade 10 th Grade 11 th Grade 12 th Grade

Have seen a student earn six credits for her score Mauston High School Total AP Students Number of Exams AP Students with Scores % of Total AP Students with Scores State Average in Global Average

Laude System 3 Levels: Summa, Magna, and Cum Laude Laude Score determined by: Multiply 7 th semester GPA *minimum 3.2 GPA by number of “Laude Courses” 32+ Summa Magna Cum Laude 24 – Cum Laude Graduation speakers come from pool of Summa Voted on by MHS faculty

Balance and Partnership Honest discussion – Before AP, we have successful students in great careers currently. We have some exceptional classes that schools come to look at and wish they had. Tough family discussions Suggestion – 2 hours per AP class a night Examples – Wautoma on a Tuesday night Typical teenager Willingness to partner What pathway is your student taking? Private vs Public Highly Competitive or All Skate, Financial Costs vs Rewards
