Going into an unmoderated caucus, passing notes, and meeting people in the hall to form a caucus bloc, write a resolution, and submit it to the chair. Writing Resolutions — When caucus blocs have solidified and delegates are starting to write their resolutions. Presenting and debating resolutions; combining and amending them; After resolutions have been submitted to the chair for review and the committee is making speeches for and against resolutions. Going into a voting bloc, where your committee either reaches or fails its goal.

Training Workshops are available at Orlando Public Library by experienced MUN Delegates to learn about how to conduct debates, write country position papers, write resolution papers, present opening speeches, and better understand how the UN operates as a global non-governmental organization. Schedule We would like to have at least 3-4 voted on and approved Resolutions by Winter Break We plan to participate in at least one Model UN Conference/Competition by the end of the year. Next possible conference in February Deadlines for Topic Papers and Country Position Papers Then debate date can be set up to discuss issue proposed

Organizations  Cura Oceanus  Marine Resources Council  Brevard Zoo  Oyster Restoration Project  Etc. (more to consider and research) ***Can implement some of the solutions created in resolutions through these organizations ***More organizations can be researched once debate process begins and from there we can figure out how those organizations can help us implement solutions or projects settled in our resolutions

Next Meeting’s Goals  Solidify a list of topic issues to discuss/debate  Will be deciding as a group on topics next meeting (feel free to bring additional suggestions)  Make a list of countries you would like to represent for proposed topics, or any you have in mind. Some countries will fit certain issues better than others  Questions to keep in mind: What do we want to solve or Who do we want to help?  Begin schedule for first mini-simulation on Topic of Gender and Science   Look through “Content Overview” and “Country Backgrounds” to decide which country you would like to represent in our first mini-simulation  More info on mini-simulation process will added on website throughout the week!  Learn how to write Position Papers and Resolution Papers by looking at samples and requirements of structure

In conclusion…the benefits Learning and exploring the international world in an active way we never have before Helping and impacting the world we never have before Improving writing, speaking, thinking, and research skills Looks super good on a college application Founding Member!
