On going activity On going activity. The IHTA as a responsible stakeholder of the natural products industry is keenly involved in; managing members interests, co operating and liaising with affiliate trade bodies at national and European level, forging and building mutually beneficial relationship and links with our regulators. During 2006 a lot of time and effort was spent in negotiations with representatives of the Irish Association of Health Stores to debate forming an umbrella alliance namely the Natural Health Products Federation. This time consuming dedication to task was a very necessary step for the Association in establishing a focus on how best to move forward for the future. Focus of 2006 has opened new opportunities for 2007 On going activity On going activity. Looking Forward With the appointment of Alan Ruth as CEO to the IHTA we are entering into an new era in the development of our association. The position is a challenging one with many issues facing our industry. I personally would like to welcome Alan to our association and look forward to working closely with him in the interests of all our members. I would like to thank all members for your support in the decision to appoint a CEO and I take this opportunity to thank my fellow council members for their time and efforts in 2006 with a special Thank You to Dominic in his role as Chair. Further thanks to Wholefood Wholesale for their hospitality and of course Mary’s chips! Lastly but not least a very big Thank You to Phil who is a anchor and often an inspiration to our association.
