That work submitted by members for exhibitions, or by candidates for membership, shall be original and unaided. “Unaided” means that the picture must not have the brush strokes etc of any other person; it does not mean that no advice or criticism may have been given. 12. That on the dissolution of the Club any credit balance in the Bank shall be disposed of in accordance with the wishes of the General Meeting. 13. That two members of the Club shall be elected annually to audit the Annual Balance Sheet. 14. That the Club is not responsible for any loss or damage to work submitted for exhibition, whether exhibited or not, or while in transit (if applicable). Although every reasonable care will be taken of member’s work, members shall make their own arrangements for insurance if they so wish. Cheltenham Est Gloucestershire Rules of Membership Updated November 2017 Constitution and Rules of the Cotswold Art Club That the Society shall be called “The Cotswold Art Club”. That its object shall be the general advancement and promotion of Art by means of assistance and encouragement in the practice of pictorial Art work, outdoor sketching, meetings for criticism of work and exhibitions. That the officers of the Club shall be a President, Chairman, Honorary Secretary and Honorary Treasurer. That the management of the Club shall be vested in a Committee consisting of the officers and four other members. The officers other than the President shall be elected every third year at the Annual General Meeting. Other Committee members shall resign after 3 years and may be eligible for re-election. The President shall be elected by the AGM based on candidates agreed by the Committee. That the Committee shall be empowered to co-opt members to the Committee as it deems necessary. That five members shall form a quorum at a Committee Meeting and twelve at a General Meeting That the Financial Year shall end on 31st October and that the Annual General Meeting shall be held as soon as practicable thereafter to receive the report of the Committee, approve the Balance Sheet, elect officers and other members of the Committee and transact any other business of which notice has been given. That membership shall run from 1st January to 31st December and the Annual Subscription shall be decided at the Annual General Meeting. Renewal is required on 1st November and subscriptions must be paid to the Treasurer by 1st Jan. If not received by 31st January membership is deemed to have lapsed. That the Honorary secretary shall convene a General Meeting on receipt of a requisition to that effect signed by not less than five members, the reason for calling the meeting being given. That candidates for full membership shall submit three examples of their work for the consideration of the Committee who shall have authority to admit or reject candidates.
