Food Security Cluster Information Management IM is a mechanism to increase the accessibility of data to achieve coordinated, timely and appropriate responses to humanitarian crisis The aim is to make sure everyone knows what everyone else is doing Strengthened decision-making at national and district level Support to Local Government by providing one single focal point WHAT IS INFORMATION MANAGEMENT AND WHY DO WE NEED IT? Allows Local Government to concentrate on the task at hand Formalised Information Flow District-level information channeled through DFPs Data processing, analysis and dissemination by IM Team in Dhaka

ROLE OF DFP S IN INFORMATION MANAGEMENT 1.Coordinate with local government counterparts  Encourage a two-way information sharing process through a single focal point 2.Advocate for regular district member updates of IM tools provided by Dhaka. 3.Disseminate documents, minutes and tools from Dhaka level to district members The DFP mechanism aims to reinforce the coordination structure by strengthening sharing of information from district level to Dhaka and vice versa both during preparedness and response phases.
