School Improvement Plan Strategies in place to support goals: Increasing Family Involvement Differentiated Reading and Math Blocks Writing Across the Curriculum Experiential Learning Opportunities with Families Empower Hour Interventions- all subjects Extended School Year- Edventure Camp Technology

School Wide Title I Beadle Lake is a School Wide Title I building. That means that we receive additional money from a federal grant from No Child Left Behind. The amount of money we receive from the grant is based on our percentage of students who receive free or reduced price lunch. The state reported our percentage at 58%. The money is used to help students who need additional support to make grade level goals.

School Wide Title I Students are identified for needing extra support through assessments. Once identified, students receive interventions that match their “need areas” to support learning. You will be notified if your child qualifies for intervention support. Students are monitored frequently to make sure they are making accelerated progress.

School Wide Title I Interventions Offered Leveled Literacy Intervention Strategic Reading Groups Math Recovery Strategic Math Phonics Phonemic Awareness Prompt and Content Writing Writing in Response to Reading Edventure Camp

What is a Focus School Focus Schools are schools with the largest achievement gaps, defined as the difference between the average scale score for the top 30% of students and the bottom 30% of students (using MEAP data).

What does this mean? Some students at Beadle Lake scored very high on the MEAP. Some students scored very low.

What are we doing? For students who need extra support: Empower Hour Interventions EdVenture Summer School For all students: Differentiated Instruction Collaborative Learning Adult to Child Ratios

What can you do? Make sure your child attends school everyday. If your child is offered an intervention slot before school or during the summer, make sure they attend. Be involved in your child’s education as much as possible. Simply showing them that you care about their education is very powerful!

Enrichment What if my child is performing above grade level? Empower Hour- Genius Hour Project Based Learning Smaller groups to support the capabilities and need for challenge in advanced students Collaboration with peers at their level At least 50 minutes daily Differentiated enrichment throughout the day
