2 What is it? The purpose of Title I under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA) is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments. Title I is the largest Federal Assistance Program for our nation’s Schools. Our  primary goal is to ensure that all students, particularly those who are low-achieving, demonstrate proficient and advanced levels of achievement on State academic achievement standards.

6 Our School’s Requirements
Amana Academy is a Schoolwide Title I School. Which means that ALL students benefit from Title I resources. Schoolwide? What Does it Mean? In , the Georgia Department of Education applied for a waiver seeking relief from the federal No Child Left Behind Act. As a result, the United States Department of Education agreed to use a new system, the College & Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI), to report the progress of Georgia's public schools. Our CCRPI is 80. Under ESEA waiver, Amana Academy is not designated as a Title I focus, priority or alert school.

7 Schoolwide Program and Goals
Provide more differentiated instruction, particularly in Math and Science. Vocabulary development in all subject areas. Implement more higher order thinking skills particularly in writing products Math – This year we will begin to use EnvisionMath 2.0 in Grades k-5 Math ELA – All grades

8 Partnering with Parents to achieve schools goals
Specifically, as stated in the School-Parent Compact, parents and teachers will work together to reach the following school goals by May 2017: Increase the percentage by 15% of students reading on grade level. Increase the percentage by 15% of students scoring at Proficient Learner on the Georgia Milestones (GMAS) Math End of Grade Assessment. Additionally, we will support student achievement through Parent Involvement.

Notification of Highly Qualified Teacher Status (Parents right to Know) Notification of schools Status 1% of System Allocation must be reserved for Parent Involvement
