Project : starting realities 1.Good SD cooperation between European Social Partners (industriAll Europe, Euratex, Cotance). Long standing experience. 2.Previous projects on ‘national observatories’ – but no interaction yet 3.Labour market issues (aging workforce, lack of new skilled workers, skills mismatch, …) > pressure on companies and industry 4.Public image of the sector (future of the sector in Europe, working conditions, …) 5.‘New skills for new jobs’ EU employment strategy

Expected results 1. Update of the analysis of the national observatories (ISP’s) on employment and training in the TCL sectors 2. Networking between observatories leading to a EU TCL Skills Council 3. Creation of platform of data, best practices, innovative tools. Definition of services to be provided by the network. Creating joint initiatives 4. Design and development of ICT infrastructure and tools, based on an open community portal. ICT includes job intervieuws, Wiki tool, … 5. Create more visibility for the topics (skills & competences) and the sectors

Activities 2013 : Second year of the EU TCL Skills Council -Extent the TCL Skills Council (by SP) to more countries -Providing budgets for bi/tri-lateral initiatives between national observatories -Having at least one general activity for the associate members and the EU TCL Skills Council -Further development of the ICT Tools -Update of the 4 reports (2012) -Working on Policy Recommendations
