Presentation transcript:

 Leadership Greater Augusta (LGA) is a nine- month interactive, informative program designed to strengthen individuals for personal, organizational, and community leadership.  A full-day opening retreat launches the program in September, followed by seven half-day sessions and a full-day mid-course retreat. A graduation celebration is held in May.  LGA offers existing and emerging leaders opportunities for skill building and leadership development. The program includes a comprehensive examination of the Greater Augusta region, and encourages participants to apply their leadership skills through community- oriented group projects.

 Leadership Greater Augusta seeks to develop the ability of individuals to influence, motivate, and enable others to contribute toward their own effectiveness and the strength of the larger community.

“The Leadership Greater Augusta program was informative, inspiring, and often immediately applicable to my daily work. From the insights gained through the Strengths Deployment Inventories assessment to the final session on Community Trusteeship, there was something I could put to use every month. Add to that the opportunity to meet and work with my fellow classmates and the community leaders engaged in the program and I would recommend LGA to anyone looking to grow as a leader in their career, community, and personal life.” Amy Wratchford Managing Director American Shakespeare Center

The Leadership Greater Augusta Program (LGA) is one of the best leadership programs I have had the opportunity to participate in. The program entails so many things that come together to ultimately help you become more aware of yourself and your personal leadership style as well as how to best help and lead other types of people. This program also exposes you to the community like you have never seen it before and allows the opportunity for building a great network of folks from all over the greater Augusta area. I highly recommend the LGA program. Michael A. Swinson Elmore, Hupp & Company, P.L.C. Certified Public Accountants Testimonials continues

Leadership Greater Augusta was a great experience. I learned many valuable leadership skills that will help me professionally and personally. I would recommend LGA to anyone who wants to improve their leadership skills while learning more about the Greater Augusta Community. LGA is an excellent opportunity to network with other leaders in the community. I am grateful that the Greater Augusta Chamber of Commerce provided me the opportunity to participate and grow as a leader and hope that the chamber develops a follow up program. Andy Tutwiler

LGA was an excellent opportunity to not only learn about Augusta County and surrounding areas, but it was a chance to network with my LGA colleagues and other business members of the community. At times it served as a “roundtable” of sorts as I learned more about the challenges facing the various counties and businesses regarding the job market. It was interesting to hear from out guest speakers to learn about future plans and projects and how they demonstrate leadership or the examples of leadership they have witnessed. It was especially interesting to learn about my leadership style and to identify the areas I need to improve on or implement. LGA has motivated me to think about how and in what ways to become more involved in the community. Latoya Garrison Job Placement/Experimental Learning Coordinator Blue Ridge Community College
