JISC RSC for London Disability Group  The aim of this group is to try to enhance the learning and teaching experiences of students and staff with disabilities, who are studying and working at institutions in London

Aims & Objectives -To encourage staff at all levels in their institutions to have an awareness of assistive technology and the DDA & SENDA in all areas of learning. -To inform and support staff to enable the development and delivery of staff development in disability awareness. -Dissemination of information and collaboration within the academic community within the London region. -To investigate and bid, collaboratively, for funding.

Aims & Objectives cont. -To arrange visits to other institutions to identify and promote good practice. -To arrange visits to specialist organisations, such as the RNIB. -To explore collaborative working between institutions to enable the sharing of expertise.

Call for Self-Nominations  We are seeking self-nominations from people wishing to join the group.  From FE Colleges, small HE institutions and ACL (Adult & Community Learning) providers.  20 members in the group.  Termly meetings at our office in central London  Visits to specialist institutions, like the RNIB and Action for Blind People.  Members who are unable to make three meetings in a row will be expected to leave the group.
