What is ICT? Using ICT (Information and Communications Technology) describes the ability to handle and communicate information, solve problems, pose questions and be creative through the use of technology.

ICT Requirements Using ICT, along with Communication and Using Mathematics, is one of the three statutory Cross- Curricular Skills that form part of the Northern Ireland Curriculum. Children will be given a level which will be reported to parents at the end of Key Stage 1 (Primary 4) and Key Stage 2 (Primary 7).

Assessing ICT Children are assessed in 5 areas: Evaluate Exhibit Express Exchange Explore

Explore is about researching and finding information and solving problems using ICT Explore

Express is about pupils being creative, developing and presenting their ideas using text, sound, music and still or moving images. Express

Exchange is about communicating with others online to share and develop ideas.

Evaluate is about pupils thinking about how they carried out an activity and how they might improve on what they did.

Exhibit is about managing and showcasing work digitally
